This year has been unlike any year in most of our lifetimes.  For many of us, we’ve had our everyday life challenged in ways we never imagined just 12 months ago. Working from home, homeschooling our children, missing family vacations, or finding ourselves isolated in our homes; whatever your situation, you don’t have to look very far to see that the world is running on empty.

Every year, we provide a special opportunity to go above and beyond in our generosity through our annual end of the year offering.  In light of all that has happened globally this year, we are more passionate than ever about serving people in our local community and across the world.  In 2020, God has led us into new territory and reinforced the vision He put in us two years ago as the people of The Hills Church—to Reach the Midwest for Jesus.

When driving your car, one of the scariest things that can happen is to see the gas gauge steadily creep toward empty. When the little yellow indicator light comes on, you’re almost out of gas.  You don’t know how many more miles you can still go, and you don’t see a gas station.  You grip the steering wheel, and hope you make it.  The feeling of “I hope I make it” describes basically all of humanity in 2020.  We have a world that is running on empty with stress, anxiety, and fear seeping into areas of our lives that were once secure.  The good news is that we have the cure for living on empty.  Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” The world needs this group of people called The Hills.
